For the life of me I cannot figure out the way people think. Here we have a man who himself admitted to having used cocaine, our President Barack Obama. Then we have a swimmer, Michael Phelps, who has won more gold medals than would fit on my mantle, smoking pot and we all but crucify him. Where is the logic in this?
This is not saying I dislike President Obama; he has a rough road ahead of him and I wish him well. But if we held everyone under a light to see the mistakes they had made in their 20s and under, I would be willing to bet not very many of us would stand tall and yell out "yeah, I done that." I for one hope Michael Phelps learns from his mistake and goes on to be the kind of man his mother would have him be.
