The following people were booked Thursday, Feb. 5 into the Highlands County Jail:

Curtis Edwin Miles, 39, of Sebring, on a charge of felony battery.

Walton Nackaha Peart, 22, of Avon Park, was recommitted and sentenced to 120 days in jail for battery.

Gerald Kenneth Sellick, 67, of 4517 Selah Road, Sebring, was recommitted and sentenced to 270 days in jail for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, second offense.

Martin Martinez Zuniga, 25, of 13 Glades Drive, Lake Placid, on charges of vehicular theft, four counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving damage, five counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and damaging property and one count each of DUI and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
