The Sebring girls basketball team continued its surprising run in the Class 4A-District 10 tournament on Friday night with a 49-39 upset victory over DeSoto in the tourney quarterfinals.
The sixth-seeded Streaks knocked off the second-seeded Bulldogs to advance to Saturday's district championship game and earn an automatic berth in the regional tournament after winning just two conference games this season.
Shannon Williams had 18 points and 12 rebounds, Hannah Shoop had eight points and 11 rebounds and Tangie McCullors racked up six points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Blue Streaks.
The championship final against defending district champ Booker will be played at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
