The Highlands County Sheriff's Office is asking that anyone with information about a Christmas shooting on West Garrett Road to contact them.
Highlands County deputies are still searching for a suspect in a Christmas night shooting in the beachfront neighborhood of Avon Park near Lake Lelia.
The victim was identified as Sean Perri, 30, who was shot several times about 7 p.m. outside an apartment in the 200 block of West Garrett Road, near his home.
Perri was airlifted to a Tampa trauma center, according to a previous report.
He was initially listed in critical condition, but his condition was upgraded to stable, and he remained in stable condition, according to Sgt. Darin Hood on Tuesday.
Hood said, to his knowledge, no one else was endangered by the shots. He would not say if detectives knew of a motive for the shooting.
"We're following up on leads and are unable to release any additional information at this time, in order not to jeopardize the investigation," he said.
