Closures and garbage pickups for the New Year's holiday

AVON PARK -

Garbage pickup in the city of Avon Park over the New Year's period will be as follows: Usual pickup for Thursday, Dec. 31 will be on Wednesday, Dec. 30. Usual pickup for Friday, Jan. 1 will be on Thursday, Dec. 31. All other pickups remain the same.

Avon Park City Hall will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 31 and Friday, Jan. 1, reopening on Monday, Jan. 4.

SEBRING -

Garbage pickup in the city of Sebring over the New Year's period will be as follows: Usual pickup for Thursday, Dec. 31 will be on Wednesday, Dec. 30. Usual pickup for Friday, Jan. 1 will be on Thursday, Dec. 31. Solid waste will be closed on New Year's Day. All other pickups remain the same.

Sebring City Hall will be closed on Friday, Jan. 1, reopening on Monday, Jan. 4. Public works and utilities will also be closed, reopening on Jan. 4.

LAKE PLACID -

Garbage pickup in the town of Lake Placid over the New Year period will be as follows: Pickup on Tuesday, Dec. 29 will be as normal; there will be no pickup on Friday, Jan. 1.

The town offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 31 and Friday, Jan. 1, reopening on Monday, Jan. 4.

Garbage pickup in Highlands County will be as follows: Usual pickup for Thursday, Dec. 31 will be on Wednesday, Dec. 30. Usual pickup for Friday, Jan. 1 will be on Thursday, Dec. 31. There will be no yard waste pickup on Wednesday, Dec. 30. All other pickups remain the same.

Highlands County Courthouse is closed on Friday, Jan. 1.

Highlands County banks will be closed on Friday, Jan. 1.

Schools are closed.

Post offices will be closed and there will be no mail delivery on Friday, Jan. 1. Normal post office hours and mail delivery will resume on Saturday, Jan. 2.

The Highlands County Landfill will be closed on Friday, Jan. 1 and Saturday, Jan. 2.

The regular landfill hours are Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
