Sebring High winter chorus concert set
SEBRING - The Sebring High School Choral Department will present its winter concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Sebring.
The public is invited to come enjoy a variety of musical selections, including holiday, classical, popular and spirituals.
Six choirs will perform, including the Show Choir and Men's Choir, as well as soloists.
Donations will be taken at the door to help support choral music at Sebring High School.
Sebring High School's choral students recently performed with the Disney Orchestra at EPCOT's Candlelight program with narrator Andy Garcia.
They will all be performing at EPCOT on Dec. 27 in the 5 p.m. show, which will feature Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance as narrators.
The Sebring Choirs are under the choral direction of Luanne Hawk.
Hawk is pleased to announce this year's All State Students who are Philip Gilroy, Sharleen Focant, Amanda Ladinsky and Kelly Broen.
These students passed three extensive theory, sight-reading and vocal exams and will be performing at the All State Convention in Tampa in January.
Students compete in worldwide math contest
LAKE PLACID - Forty-seven students at Lake Placid Christian School participated in the 25th annual American Mathematics Competition 8 recently, which covers middle school mathematics and is administered at participating schools.
Malachi McLean had a perfect score and was one of the International Champions.
Hannah Waller was a close second only missing one question.
The AMC 8, first offered in 1985, is an annual project sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America and is located at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
