The Lake Placid community has lost a wonderful person with the death of Clifford H. Avery on Nov. 8.
I was privileged to know Cliff for only nine years. During this short time I was impressed by Cliff's many human qualities.
Cliff was liked by everyone and was a man of simple pleasures, who was dedicated to his family and faith.
He volunteered often to the Elks. He was a "behind the scenes" kind of man, who did his job without fanfare or recognition.
Cliff Avery never looked for the extraordinary in life but was satisfied with God's tender miracles. The blessings that come from a simple life well lived.
He now rests with the Lord. I know that he will be missed terribly by many.
