Veterans Beach's men's bathroom has long been a spot for lewd behavior, and another person was arrested Tuesday on such charges.
Gabriel Cabrera-Cirino, 47, of 2945 W. Kevin Road, Avon Park, was charged with lewd or lascivious behavior, indecent exposure in public and resisting an officer without violence.
Sebring Police Officer Tom Gilliard was working undercover at Veterans Beach around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday when he reportedly saw Cabrera-Cirino park next to the bathroom and go inside. Another officer said he'd seen the suspect at the beach several times and thought he was conducting lewd acts inside, according to the arrest report.
Gilliard went into the bathroom and allegedly saw Cabrera-Cirino masturbating in the last stall.
"When I did approach Cabrera-Cirino, he zipped and buttoned up his pants and walked over to the sink," Gilliard wrote in the arrest report. "I asked Cabrera-Cirino what he wanted and he stated, 'You.'"
The suspect then looked out the bathroom window before leaving and walking toward his car at a "fast pace."
When Cabrera-Cirino got in his car, Gilliard showed him his badge and ordered him not to leave. The suspect did not obey and took off northbound on Lakeview Drive.
A traffic stop was later conducted by another officer and Cabrera-Cirino was placed under arrest.
