A suspect in Tuesday's deadly Washington Heights shooting has turned himself in to investigators with the Sebring Police Department.

Darren David Cheatham, 19, was arrested at 11 a.m. today after turning himself in on outstanding warrants, the SPD said.

Charges in reference to the shooting death of 22-year-old Kristopher Edward Brown are forthcoming.

The Highlands County Sheriff's Office's Web site lists that Cheatham was booked into the jail at 12:43 p.m. Thursday on two counts of probation violation. He has several previous arrests that go back to 2008 and included charges of felony battery, possession of marijuana, resisting an officer without violence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted Florida felon.

Brown was reportedly shot three times Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. Initial calls said he was conscious following the shooting, but his condition began to deteriorate because of a hit to the stomach.
