Two men and one juvenile were arrested and charged with stealing a woman's purse Tuesday night before stunning her with a stun gun.
Josue R. Ortiz, 21, was charged with robbery, aggravated battery and committing a second-degree felony while wearing a mask or hood.
Christian Y. Diaz, 19, and the 16-year-old juvenile were both charged with accessory to robbery, accessory to aggravated battery and accessory to committing a second-degree felony while wearing a mask or hood.
On Tuesday night, the woman was walking in the 1000 block of West Walnut Street when Ortiz reportedly came up to her and demanded she give him her purse.
After giving him the purse, Ortiz then put the stun gun to her back and stunned her for two to three seconds, according to the Avon Park Police Department. He fled the scene on foot before jumping into a Chevy Malibu with Diaz and the teenage suspect.
Avon Park Police Officer Earl Tilman later found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Waldron Avenue and W.L. Kirkland Street. Investigators reportedly found a ski mask and bandanas, as well as the stun gun.
