Investigators are still looking for the person who opened fire at 2607 Pompino Drive at 12:02 a.m. Monday and injured one man.

Highlands County Sheriff's Sgt. Darin Hood, with the Criminal Investigations Unit, said Ryan Nowell, 18, was taken to Florida Hospital Heartland Division for treatment of minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

"It is believed that this residence was targeted and it was not a random act of violence," Hood said.

No other details about the shooting were available at press time, including a description of the shooter.

Anyone with information should contact Highlands County Sheriff's Sgt. Roger St. Laurent at 402-7250. Those who wish to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward should call the Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477).
