Tea Party

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. McAllister for his letter on Nov. 24. This was just what the Tea Party movement needed: some left wing nut to remind us why we are holding tea parties. And, he gave us lots more exposure than any of the newspapers in Highlands County, so again thanks Mr. McAllister. But, I do need to correct some of the things that he said:

1. It was not a political rally. There were voters from all parties there. The thing that we had most in common was we are the ones that hope we can pound some sense in the heads of our high spending politicians and change their minds on trying to spend our country, state, and county into bankruptcy, while trying to change our Constitution or ignoring it all together. If we can't do that, then we are the ones who are prepared to remove them from office come November 2010.

2. On the number of folks attending question. There are several very good eye doctors in Highlands County and I would strongly suggest Mr. McAllister visit one of them.

3. I walked the crowd also and all of the comments that I got were thanking the Tea Party group for holding the rally, and yes, we do know what a great country we live in, that is why we don't want it changed to socialism.

4. I would like to suggest that Mr. McAllister appear on the Barry Foster show some morning, where he could tell us just how this hope and change is so great and how we could be much better off if we would just let the government take our money, divide it and run our lives and by him going on the show, could give those gun toting rednecks an opportunity to call in with questions while not placing himself in danger. I think this would truly be the American thing to do. Freedom of speech is something we conservatives truly believe in.
