The Highlands County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in identifying a credit card fraud suspect in connection with an incident that occurred July 28, according to a sheriff's office press release.

In the early hours of the morning, a Hispanic male, wearing a light blue/gray short sleeve shirt with black horizontal stripes and plaid long shorts, entered the Circle K at U.S. 27 and U.S. 98, the press release added.

He is believed to have used a stolen credit card to buy more than $500 worth of diesel fuel for a red sleeper cab semi truck he was driving. The semi had an enclosed trailer attached, the press release said.

The suspect has a noticeable scar on his right forearm.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Steve Worley at the Highlands County Sheriff's Office at 863-402-7250.

Callers may also provide information through Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.

Callers to Heartland Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
