A Sebring man died Monday night after his vehicle struck a utility pole at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 27 and Hammock Road.

Roy Snidow Sr., 84, of Sebring, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Sebring Police Cmdr. Steve Carr.

The victim was southbound on U.S 27 in a 2000 Ford minivan when he went through a red light and hit the pole on the driver's side, according to Carr.

He added that there are indications a medical condition could have contributed to the accident.
