Boil water notice issued

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Placid Utility Water system customers in the Tomoka Heights subdivision experienced an emergency water shut-down on Monday to repair a 10-inch water line.

There will be another shut-down today to complete the repairs.

Effected areas include: Grandview Boulevard and Crestview Terrace, from the Rosewood Drive North-Crestview Terrace intersection to the Tomoka Boulevard North intersection including Crestview Court North.

As a precaution advise those affected by this shut down that all water used for drinking, cooking or brushing teeth be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. This includes ice machines, soda fountains and drinking water fountains. As an alternate bottled water may be used.

The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect for two consecutive days (April 28 and 29) until the bacteriological samples show that the water is safe to drink. At that time a rescind notice will be issued. Call the Placid Utilities Water Department at 402-6786 or 699-3716.
