Sheriff's office conducting homicide investigation

LAKE PLACID --

A body found in the Sun 'n Lakes subdivision Monday afternoon is being treated as a homicide.

Highlands County Sheriff's Office found the body in the undeveloped eastern portion of the subdivision, according to a press release. The victim is listed as a white male of apparent Hispanic origin. At this time, the victim has not been positively identified.

Detective Sgt. Darin Hood said no other information on the investigation is being released at this time.
