Healthcare professionals generally recognize the death of a spouse as major stress event in a person's life. And that stress can be compounded when the death occurs in a younger couple.
Good Shepherd Hospice is offering a free grief support group in Sebring, specifically geared to the needs of young widows and widowers. The group will offer ways for people to share their feelings and develop skills to work through their grief.
The six-week adult grief support group is scheduled to run on Tuesdays, Oct. 21 to Dec. 16 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Sun Room, 3003 Herring Ave., in Sebring. The group will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The sessions are open to anyone who has lost a loved one, and participants need not have used Good Shepherd Hospice programs in the past. Space is limited and reservations are requested.
To RSVP or for more information, contact Angel Barnett or Kathy Wilde at 863-402-1066 or 1-800-464-3994.
