Two information sessions for those interested in the Coronary Health Improvement Project will be held this month at the Better Living Community Center, 22 E. Phoenix St., in Lake Placid.

The sessions are set for today and Sept. 25. Both sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The sessions will include a video showing an overview of the program and an explanation of lectures, food samples and cooking demonstrations.

The actual program, which will run from Oct. 6 through Nov. 5, will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 - 8.

Dr. Hans Diehl is the founder of the project.

As a National Institutes of Health supported research fellow in cardiovascular epidemiology at Loma Linda University, Diehl evaluated the impact of the Pritikin Longevity Center, where he directed the research and health education departments.

As a post-doctoral scholar at the School of Public Health at UCLA, Diehl contributed to the establishment of the UCLA Center for Health Enhancement. He earned a doctorate in health science with emphasis on lifestyle medicine and a master's degree in public health nutrition from Loma Linda University.
