I get a kick out of hearing the president or presidential candidates saying they know how to win a war.

These aren't the days when rulers go to battle with their troops. Presidents don't lead the wars and they don't win the wars. They rely on the Pentagon and the warriors to do a professional job. The key is the president must listen to what is needed and combine diplomacy to ensure wars are won.

The only way a war can be won strictly by the military is to allow the military to use all of their military might and go in and level the place as they did in World War II, and if they don't want to do that, then diplomacy has to be combined.

Why do you think Russia defeated the Georgians so fast? Because they used their military might and rolled in with massive force. If we really want to get involved in another war, then we should go in to ensure a military victory.

I still believe that our major problems with Iraq were because of Mr. Rumsfeld and retired General Bremer because they decided to disband the whole Iraqi military (of course, they might have taken the fall for President Bush, he could have told them to do it.)

We didn't take enough force into Iraq to protect the whole country after the Iraqi military was disbanded. We also need to remember that Mr. Rumsfeld was the one who was trying to get a smaller mobile military, which cost a few officers their jobs.

I'm very happy that we are expanding our military again. It has become too small, and we are using reserves way too much. The purpose of this letter is to remind everybody that presidents don't win wars; we need a president who will use all tools and resources in the White House to make our economy strong again, and make us a friend in the world community again.
