Economic Woes

»  Comments | Post a Comment

We have different opinions about why our economy is in such a bad state, but it behooves each of us to take our individual inventory.

It seems to me, when we go in debt, we are using what belongs to someone else. There are things that we need the use of credit for, but even then, it is our responsibility to use common sense and not over indulge. When we buy things we know we can't afford and sometimes don't even need, we are asking for trouble.

Now our government is trying to fix everyone's problems. It will never work. The Bible tells us we reap what we sow; there are consequences to the decisions we make in life. Many are beginning to reap and I stress beginning. When our nation over extends, which they already have, that's even worse. Strange as it may seem, we seem to have people who don't realize that we are the government and our taxes is where the money comes from, or at least that's the way it was intended.

However, our government has even gotten into the borrowing business. I fear this will bring destruction to all. God has blessed us that we are a spoiled people and unless we exercise Chron.7:14, I'm afraid we are headed for trouble; this nation can't remember when times were not so good.

There are a few left who can remember what hard times are like. I do challenge each of you to read Chronicles 7:14 and put it into action. Pray that God will give you the wisdom how to use what he blesses you with. Living above one's means will never bring happiness; only trusting in God will do that.

Mathew 6:33 tells us to trust him and our needs will be met, not our wants, but as we read Solomon's experience, we see because he asked for wisdom to lead his people, he became the world's richest man. Just trust him and you will never lose. You will have difficulty but he will always be there to see you through.
