The polar bears of the north are not the only creatures in danger of extinction. The liberal big-game rifles are aimed at the governor of Alaska.
The lowest of the shots taken so far is the reported decision of the tavern owner who is said to have hung in his place of business an obscene painting purporting to depict Sarah Palin.
I am well aware that political candidates are habitually dragged through the mud and slime as a matter of course, and the more challenging the candidate, the more mud will be thrown in the hope it will stick. I wonder sometimes why anyone would want to undergo the grief.
In the mind of the radical liberal, Gov. Palin has at least three strikes against her, maybe four, if you count the fact that she is a lady. Count one is the fact that she is an outspoken Christian. Count two complements count one; she is a conservative. After the first two counts, count three should be no surprise. She is a Republican!
As a retired Christian minister I could become enthusiastic about expounding upon all those counts, but I'll try to spare you.
I'd like to tell you though that it is astonishing what so many people have decided are the greatest threats to our freedom in the United States. Why should it be deemed a threat when some of us would like to safeguard what used to be the moral values of previous generations? Why is prayer, whether public or private, a threat? Why is the Bible, which is the most comprehensive boon to the welfare and freedom of any society, so greatly feared in this society, which in the past has cherished it? Could it be that those things convict us of sin? Wake up America!
