Hoffman On City Payroll Another Year

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Paul McCartney had "Another Day" and now former Sebring City Administrator Bob Hoffman has "another year" on the city payroll.

Hoffman was the city's top administrator from August 1990 until July 1, 2008. After he stepped down as city administrator, he continued to work for the city on a lease/consultant agreement, which expired Sept. 30.

Last month the city council discussed keeping Hoffman for another year.

City Administrator Scott Noethlich will need him a lot, council Chairman Bud Whitlock said. Hoffman is good at union negotiations.

Some council members said Hoffman would be helpful with the city's water and sewer dispute with the Sun 'n Lake Improvement District. The issue involves the jurisdictional rights to provide utility service to a proposed assisted living facility on Schumacher Road.

Noethlich confirmed that Hoffman will continue to work for the city for another year as assistant city administrator with an annual salary of $67,000.

Noethlich's salary is $70,000.

Hoffman's current focus is on Harder Hall and the lawsuit with the Sun 'n Lake Improvement District, Noethlich said.
