Frostproof 34, Avon Park 6

Frostproof sophomore DJ Barnes threw three touchdown passes and junior Nickell Robey had five carries for 93 yards and a rushing score on Friday night to lead the Bulldogs to a 34-6 victory over Avon Park at Joe Franza Stadium.

Barnes threw for two touchdowns in the first half, the second coming on a 16-yard strike to Robey with 2.8 seconds remaining in the half to put the Bulldogs up 13-0. His long was a 40-yard bomb to junior Eddie Smith midway through the third quarter, while Robey bulked up his stats with a 79-yard touchdown run in the third to put the game away.

Avon Park was led by junior Teddy Allen, who had 97 yards on 16 carries. The Red Devils scored their lone touchdown with 10 seconds remaining in the game on a 1-yard run by Tekovan Miller.
