Free Seminar For Managers, Association Board Members

SEBRING - The law firm of Lutz, Bobo, Telfair, Eastman & Lee will conduct a free seminar for board members and managers of homeownersassociations, cooperatives and condomimums in the Sebring area.

They will cover any recent court cases and pending legislation that may impact communities. They will also highlight several potentially dangerous situations and have an open forum for questions.

TDC Meeting Canceled

SEBRING - Due to the lack of agenda items, the Dec. 4 Highlands County Tourist Development Council meeting has been canceled.

Since the first Thursday in January is a holiday, the council's next meeting will be held Jan. 8.

Mark Jackson, Polk County'stourism and sports marketingdirector,will be speaking at the January meeting.

LP Chamber Of Commerce Holding Gift Drive

LAKE PLACID - The Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce is collecting new unwrapped gifts for children and young adults to the age of 16.

Gifts should be dropped at the Lake Placid Chamber office, 18 N. Oak Ave., Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The gift drive will end on Dec. 11. For more information, contact the chamber at 465-4331.

Florida Hospital Foundation Announces 'Gala Winner's Choice'

SEBRING - Wrapping up the 14th annual Gala fundraising efforts benefitting each of the Florida Hospital campuses in Sebring, Lake Placid and Wauchula, the Foundation announced Mike Cove as the "Gala Winner's Choice" grand prize winner.

The drawing offered the winner a choice between a 2008 SeaDoo from Lake Placid Marine or a 2008 ClubCar Golf Cart from Art's Carts. Cove chose the golf cart valued at $5,500

The three semifinalists were Dr. Jorge Gonzalez, Dr. Hinda Greene and Joanne Stayton, each received baskets valued at $150 each.
