Students Get Taste Of Real-Life Education

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Nine exceptional student education students from Avon Park Middle School walked or wheeled Friday to The Depot Restaurant for their first "community experience" of the school year.

The outing offered the students a chance to place their order and pay for their meal, said ESE teacher Debra Phelps.

Cheeseburger and fries and the taco salad were the students' favorite choices for lunch.

"It was wonderful; they had a great time," Phelps said. She hopes to do a community experience with the students every other month.
