Southwest Florida Water Management District will be conducting controlled, prescribed burns in November and December on 150 acres of land.
The Jack Creek property is located in Leisure Lakes, about one mile west of U.S 27 and three miles south of State Road 66.
District Land Manager Kevin W. Love said burns mimic natural fire cycles to avoid uncontrolled wildfires. The district owns and protects 350,000 acres of environmentally sensitive lands for water resource and natural systems.
