Christmas Time

Maybe I am rushing the season but I am seeing Christmas advertisements already and decided this might be a good time to send this letter.

For many years I was one of those people who got depressed at Christmas time. I was ashamed of it and tried to hide it, but still felt sad and overwhelmed. Then, several years ago, my daughters suggested we consider celebrating in a different way. They thought we should give each other a token gift and send the money we would have spent on gifts to a charitable organization.

We have done this for four or five years and it has made such a big difference. Now I feel joyful at Christmas time knowing we have made a difference in some other lives. It is a wonderful way to commemorate the birth of our Lord.
