Sophomore Devin Clarke caught a touchdown, threw for a touchdown and ran back a interception for another on Friday night to lead Sebring to a 27-24 victory over Port Charlotte at Firemen's Field.
Clarke pulled in a 41-yard pass from fellow sophomore Matt Grubb on Sebring's first drive, then threw a 45-yard strike to senior JC Howard on Sebring's next drive. He then opened the second quarter with a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown on the first play of the period to put Sebring up 20-7.
Port Charlotte's Alwyn Laplace had 60 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns and quarterback Samuel Thurston completed 5 of 10 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown, but Sebring made a key special-teams play late to seal the deal.
After punting on a 4th and 18 from their own 38, Sebring senior Kevin Welborn downed the ball inside the Pirates' one-yard line with less than four minutes to play.
The Sebring defense then forced the three-and-out to claim their second straight win to close out the season.
Grubb completed 9 of 12 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns and junior Michael Hankerson caught a three-yard TD pass.
