The Police Benevolent Association (PBA) of Florida chose to insert itself in a local campaign for sheriff, one so low that it could get under a snake's belly, and then call for contributions.

People, we have the Florida Sheriff's Association and the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches, to which I have and will continue to donate for a just and worthy cause. When we can give to the children as a unit, we cannot fail. It's worth a contribution of $25 for sheriffs, $25 for youth yearly.

Our Sheriff Susan Benton is on the cover of the September-October edition of The Sheriff's Star (which is published by the Florida Sheriff's Association,) along with Florida's lady sheriffs from 1938 until 2008.
