I just wanted to congratulate Sheriff Susan Benton on the victory over Ron Grimming. It's obvious that the majority of the voters had the sense to vote for a clean campaign, and a job well done over the last four years.
The Florida Police Benevolent Association has shot itself in the foot as far as I'm concerned over all of this and people should look hard at who they support with donations when the phone rings in the future. We needed a sheriff, and not a professional politician in the sheriff's office.
I think that the voters here as well as across America are getting really tired of the trash politics and it showed here in beautiful Highlands County. God bless America, and not voting, or liking Obama much, I pray that I'm wrong about him, and that he'll turn out to be a great president; wouldn't that be wonderful?
By the way, if you are one of the many people who think that the left lane was put in just for you, you're wrong. Have the courtesy to move to the right or center lane and quit blocking the traffic flow.
