Homosexual Marriage

The animosity over homosex-ual marriage is basically over secular concept and religious belief. Here in the United States, Christians are in the vast majority and make up nearly 80 percent of the population. Accordingly, their lives, albeit in various degree, are led by the teachings of the church and Holy Bible. The Bible is considered the word of God and Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 makes it crystal clear that homosexuality is an abomination.

With regards to marriage the book of Mark 10:6-9 relates what Jesus told his disciples. "From the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. And they shall be one flesh, so then they are no more twain but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together let not man put asunder." Marriage to Christians is a sacrament given from God.

Those of homosexual and secular persuasion view marriage as only a concept. They seek legal marriage as a means of acceptability into the mainstream social life. Legalizing homosexual marriage would eliminate one more barrier in their overall agenda. To Christians homosexuality is a psychological disorder and immoral. It has nothing to do with people of the same sex loving one another as taught in the Bible. It centers around their sexual activity which the religious view as sodomitic sapphism.

The claim that pedophilia crimes are committed mostly by heterosexual men is misleading. Heterosexual men make up 98-99 percent of the population while homosexual men comprise only 1-2 percent yet are responsible for over 33 percent of all molestations of children. The more the homosexual movement has entered the mainstream the more vocal the North-American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) has become. Another reason of concern for many people of faith.
