On behalf of the Post VFW 3880, the Ladies Auxiliary and the Men's Auxiliary in Lake Placid, we wish to take this opportunity to say "thank you" to the business that allowed us to stand at their doors to accept donations from our generous citizens on May 23 and 24, which was our semiannual Buddy Poppy Drive. Thank you to Publix, Winn-Dixie, CVS, Gate Gas Station, Sweetbay and Circle K. Your kindness is greatly appreciated by all.
The poppy is made by the disabled veteran as a tribute to those veterans who didn't come home and those crippled or scared for life in fighting for "our" freedom, which we enjoy to-day.
We owe them a great debt of gratitude for their sacrifices. The money received is used solely for the purpose of helping the distressed veterans and their families.
May we all take the time to thank God every day for the blessings he bestows upon us to live in this land of free and plenty. We have so much to be thankful for, you may not think so at times, but just stop and reflect back and you will remember.
Remember freedom is not free. Sacrifices are being made daily by our fighting men and women and our veterans.
Thank you all who gave generously to our Poppy Drive. God bless our veterans wherever they may and God bless America.
