I only wish I were experiencing a similar percentage drop in wages-revenue as compared to the losses the county and our government is experiencing.
Perhaps my losses are attributed to the decline in construction as well as the real estate market or is it the expensive fuel and rising grocery bill? I may also be over taxed with the real estate since you are hard pressed to sell it even at appraised value. Real estate used to be an asset, now it is a trap.
Whatever the driving force is behind the ailing economy, the government has not even come close to feeling the crunch that the small business owners and labor force are enduring. I wonder what the future holds and what the economic gurus will label this economic era.
I do not like the idea of anyone losing their job, but the government appears to be doing a whole lot of nothing about the management of the economy.
I have always been one to believe that the less the government intervenes, the better. The free enterprise system works. During these challenging times, I have come to the conclusion that now is the time to rebuild America. Screw everybody else; take care of the American citizens who are paying your taxes, wages and bills.
Finally, if the government is unable to adjust and accommodate, then they as well must feel the pain. Cut your budgets, manpower and make it work.
The government is the most non-productive entity around. It is easy to be big business and further the machine when you are being financed by the people and you are able to manipulate the system to your every desire.
It is during times like this that the people are angered by your inept ways and your failure to be a reflection of the real world; the one we citizens live in.
