Southern Gospel Group

SEBRING - The Reflectsons, a Southern gospel group from Trenton, will be in concert at First Assembly Of God at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 13. The Reflectsons are in their 16th year of gospel music and have been honored with a number of awards for accomplishments in the gospel music field. The concert will include many gospel favorites from years past as well as new and original songs.

There is no charge and an offering will be received.

Free Clothing Give-Away

VENUS - Venus United Methodist Church will host its second annual free clothing give-away from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26 and Saturday, Aug. 2. This event is open to the community. Many area families have made donations so there will be clothes for babies, young children teenagers and adults. If you have clothes to donate call and arrange for a pick up or drop off.

Movie Night

AVON PARK - Heartland Christian Church will host a movie night for all ages at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 18. There will be two different movies, a G rated on for the children and a comedy. There will also be a snack bar to purchase snacks and drinks.

Yard Sale

SEBRING - Grace Academy will hold a yard sale from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at Sunridge Baptist Church. All proceeds will benefit the school.

Pool Party

LAKE PLACID - Eastside Christian Church will host a pool party from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, July 19. There is no cost for the event and snacks and hot dogs will be provided.

Beth Moore Live Simulcast

AVON PARK - Christian author Beth Moore will deliver a message from Louisville, Ky., Aug. 1-2. Local residents will have the opportunity to see the Bible teacher live without leaving Avon Park. Through a partnership between Life Way Women's Events, Church Communication Network and Union Congregational Church a simulcast will broadcast live via satellite from Southeast Christian Church in Louisville.

Back To School Block Party

AVON PARK - First Christian Church will host a Back To School Block Party from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9. There will be games, prizes bounce house, a dunk tank and free food. Every child in attendance will receive school supplies. There will also be various health screenings and "Ident-a-kid" will be there to give each child an identification card.

Door prizes will be given at the end of the evening, and you must be present to win.

Praise And Prayer

LAKE PLACID - Trinity Lutheran Church will host a light supper followed by praise and prayer, and an age appropriate study or activity. These activities will be held at 5:30 p.m., July 23 and Aug. 6.

There will be a free will offering to offset the cost of dinner.

Sebring Youth Change The World

SEBRING - Members of the First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine joined more than 342 youth and their leaders from June 28-July 5 for a World Changers National All Youth Construction Project in Savannah, Ga.

During the week, students spent their days roofing, painting and installing new windows in the Savannah community. In the evenings, they participated in worship, Bible study and team building activities. Youth from Lake Josephine that participated in the project were: Julianne Lind, Loie and Kirbie Brakefield, Whitney Hummel, Evan and Jared Chaput, Zach Sawyer, Dylan and Olivia Ferguson, Misha Hahn, Stella and Joshua Brakefield, Meghan Knowles and Iris Carnegie.

John and Cyndi Chaput, Cynthia Knowles, Cary Hahn and Allen Altvater went as group leaders.

Jemuel Anderson Concert

AVON PARK - Jemuel Anderson, a skilled pianist, was the guest of Avon Park Seventh-day Adventist Church on July 5. His program consisted of piano renditions of many of the old favorite hynms. Jemuel grew up in a Christian family and was exposed to the piano at the age of 7 through his older brother, Hopeland Anderson. His piano ministry has touched many lives in a number of countries in Africa, North America and the Carribean Islands.

The following artist will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. July 12, July 19 and July 26 at the Avon Park Seventh-day Adventist Church. Cynthis Muller, David Peterson and Charles Haugabrooks.

Sunridge Baptist

SEBRING - Sunridge Baptist Church will hold pre-registration for Outrigger Island Vacation Bible School from 8 - 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12. Vacation Bible School will begin on Sunday, July 20.

Walker Memorial Academy

SEBRING - Walker Memorial Academy will host Power Lab Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m.-noon Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18 in its gymnasium.
