There will be no garbage pickup Friday countywide. Garbage for Sebring, Avon Park, Lake Placid and the unincorporated areas will be picked up Thursday. In Lake Placid, garbage must be by the roadside by 7 a.m.
Banks, post offices, government offices and the Highlands County Courthouse will be closed Friday.
