There is no other freedom as we are enjoying here in the U.S.A. I have enjoyed 53 years of "the life" here and 49 years of this as a naturalized citizen. What a country.
Now I am encouraged to see that so many young people are so enthusiastic about voting, many for the first time. I heard on TV that many are going to vote for the Republican Party (I am registered Republican.) Yes the candidate is an honorable man and has greatly suffered and endured as a soldier. However, when judging who to vote for one should examine not only the current rhetoric but the many previous years in any candidates opinions, acts, etc.
We know that the war in Iraq is not what some of us agree with but we support our president. So does the Republican candidate. He will continue in the same mode. Now we see the reports of the fatalities mounting. Terrible injuries for our fighting men and women and the emotional aftermath for them and their families.
We are at the point of a whole generation of our young people going to war for our freedom. Where are these soldiers going to come from? I grew up in a terrible war. Now, how do we get more soldiers. Is there a draft in the picture that nobody is talking about?
I pray for your young lives and I hope that the voters will ask everybody to be supportive of all the candidates of their choice, but please look each and every one's promises and ask a million questions. Your life and/or health may depend on it.
