Proper ATV Use

»  Comments | Post a Comment

It is sad to see another life lost using an ATV. I feel we should try harder to educate ATV users, and offer a place where they can ride them. An ATV is not designed for multiple riders. Is there a requirement for dealers to give a "Safe Use" instruction pamphlet or any hands-on training? Are buyers aware of the laws pertaining to their use?

I don't think they can be driven "legally" on public roads. I would encourage all ATV owners and users to check with law enforcement before driving on public roads. Should you see someone driving on one your streets, give the police or sheriff's office a call.

An ATV used properly and in a legal way can be a lot of fun. When they are not driven safely they can be deadly. All people - youths and adults - should be given instructions on the proper and safe use of any ATV. The life you save may be your own.
