SEBRING - A steering committee for the International Baccalaureate program has recommended that the school district appoint a program coordinator to shepherd the school district's application should Highlands County School Board opt for the prestigious international high school curriculum.
The board will vote Tuesday, Feb. 26 whether to bring IB to Highlands County.
At its workshop Tuesday, the steering committee also chose Sebring High School as the site where the proposed program would be offered. Pre-IB courses would be offered at all the high schools.
If the IB program does come to Highlands County, the steering committee was looking at offering its first course to 11th graders in 2010.
