SEBRING - A little bit of Florida history is being revived this week.
More than 100 horseback riders will visit Highlands County during the annual Cracker Trail Ride today.
Cracker Trail riders will travel from Kahn Ranch in Hardee County on South Hammock Road and cross into Highlands County after 8 a.m.
The riders will travel east on S.R. 66, cross U.S. 27, and proceed to Rocking Cross Glade along U.S. 98 (about a mile west of Spring Lake) for lunch.
The riders will then proceed to Lorida and spend the night at Hart Ranch.
The regular yearly visit to Cracker Trail Elementary School will likely be scrubbed since the school is closing early.
