Hank Kowalski's letter "Live and Let Live" is the most disgusting chain of thought I ever read. A dangerous rattlesnake that large is more important than a child, dog or cat. Yes, cats kill birds, but we should not mess with Mother Nature. If a large, dangerous snake appears anywhere near me, I will do exactly what the two heroes did and sleep well that night.
Suggesting that these fine men be punished for killing a dangerous snake instead of calling animal control and waiting while the snake makes its way to fill its belly with a neighbor or someone's pet is his way of handling the situation. I suppose if it was a terrorist sitting in the grass waving his gun back and forth, we should call the military and wait, hoping they don't shoot before the taxpayer's help arrives.
