Arson Suspected In Park Place Fires

SEBRING - After two fires within three weeks at Park Place Truss, the State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating for arson.

Sam Venzeio, spokesman for the fire marshal's office, said although the investigation is in the beginning stages, investigators have ruled out anything that indicates it was accidental.

"It is really odd to have two fires in the same location," Venzeio said. "It does happen, but it's too coincidental."

The two fires, located at 454 Park St., occurred on Jan. 17 and Feb. 8 and are being investigated as one fire.

The building used to assemble trusses was a complete loss during the Jan. 17 fire. Firefighters were again called to the scene at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 8 when the pole barn burned.
