As a past president of the Highlands County Genealogical Society, I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks to you, your staff and your newspaper for your present and past interest in and publicizing of our society and our activities.
The most recent article (and corrections) regarding the partnering of the greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce and HCGS certainly brought new awareness of our over 25-year local presence to your many readers.
We would be delighted if we could be ready to receive people as quickly as the included opening date cited in the article. Regretfully, the time frame presented is physically impossible. There are no books or furnishings on-site and we do not have a genie or magical wand to re-shelve our over 5,000 books and periodicals.
Your readers' understanding and future patronage will be welcomed and greatly appreciated as soon as we are able to complete this historic move.
