Every parent, grandparent and every adult should be up in arms at our county for the planned cuts in the amount of teachers for our middle and high schools.
When is it the right thing to do for the sake of budget restraints to put this economic meltdown on the backs of our children? Our children and their education are the most important investment we can make. We have no right to have our children pay for the mistakes adults have made. I consider this child abuse.
Shame on the school board; how about you the administrators take a cut in pay, not the teachers who dedicate far more than they get paid, giving their time, love and devotion to teaching and molding our young to take the reins when we are all gone.
I want to leave this world knowing that we have given our children every opportunity in education, not short change them. Go back to the drawing board and figure a way to make the education of our children the most important thing we can never cut. By the way, I am not a teacher but a very appreciative citizen.
