Kudos to Bob Kurabieski, Bob Munsell and John Booth for putting that person in his place; I am not sure where Mr. Gillis' place is, but I know where I would put him.
Mr. Gillis, I have read some of your garbage over the years, always controversial and full of rumors, half truths, innuendos, and downright lies.
You probably sit in front of your computer, mouse in hand, browser at the ready, for any controversial subject you can exaggerate on and make into something never intended.
It is very obvious that you have never worn the uniform of any of our all Volunteer Armed Forces.
You have not the slightest idea of what life aboard a super aircraft carrier is all about, or the pilots that man our fighter-bombers.
In my humble opinion, some of the bravest men in the world, commander John McCain is such a man.
To try to dirty this man's reputation for the sake of making a few points for your "first black president in U.S. history" is a slanderous, low, mean spirited, vile letter to the editor, without the slightest bit of credibility.
A lot of men died that day on the Forrestal, many more crew members were burned and injured doing what they were trained to do, in spite of the danger that the ship could have been blown up had the fire reached the magazine.
Such is the nature of our "All Volunteer Armed Forces."
I am a Marine but I have served on smaller carriers and I have nothing but respect for these dedicated men. I could say much more but I think I have made my point.
Mr. Gillis, you are an example of just how far we have taken astray the right of free speech.
Go back to your computer and see if you can find out about "your president's Muslim background."
