I agree with Stan Paralikis' letter the other day and sure wish that enough people would contact local law enforcement, Sebring Police, sheriff's office and the Florida Highway Patrol as well as write letters to the editor for enforcement of this problem.
It's getting to be a joke just driving from U.S. 98 into Sebring and back, the traffic in the left lane has increased with the season, it seems everyone has a cell phone on their ear and in the left lane. This is the passing lane and turn lane, this lane was not put in for their convenience, the law was made to enhance traffic flow, I don't see trucks as the problem, its the 4-wheelers, as truckers would say, you see people constantly shifting lanes trying to move through the traffic because all the lanes are usually going under the speed limit and blocked up, the laws on the books enforce it!!
I would like to see an effort especially by the Sebring Police Department to do this, and the other departments to follow the lead, the lighted signs that are put out to say drive safely could warn motorists, as well as some ads in the newspaper, that the law will be enforced.
Make the trucks stay in the right two lanes as well. This law enforced would reduce accidents, and help stop road rage. The left lane restrictions work in other cities; we have all seen them in our travels. The county commissioners wanted growth and now that they have accomplished it, now enforce the laws! It's just that simple, it's common sense.
