Curtain To Come Down On 'Aida'

SEBRING - The final three performances of "Aida" are set for this weekend at Highlands Little Theatre, which is located behind the Sebring Public Library, off of West Center Avenue.

The shows tonight and Aug. 30 will begin at 8.

The last performance on Aug. 31 will start at 2:30 p.m.

Party Planned At Duffer's

SEBRING - Duffer's Pub, 6940 U.S. 27 N. in Sebring, - will host an "End of Summer Party" tonight.

There will be two-for-one drink specials from 10 to midnight. A bikini and dance contest will be held with cash prizes and bikinis for the winners.

Karaoke Set For Why Not Lounge

SEBRING - Greg's DJ and Karaoke will be at the Why Not Lounge in Sebring from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. today and Aug. 30.

If there are enough participants, there will be a cash for karaoke contest. The winner will receive $25.

The lounge is located near the intersection of U.S. 27 and Hammock Road.

Legion Post 25 Hosting Picnic

LAKE PLACID - The American Legion, Placid Post 25, will host a Labor Day picnic on Sunday, Aug. 31, starting at 2 p.m. at the Post home, located at 1490 U.S. 27 N. in Lake Placid.

There will be baby back ribs with all the trimmings. Cost is $8 donation, payable at the door. L and L band will be playing from 2-5 p.m. For more information, call 441-4103.

AP Museum Holds Final Summer Program

AVON PARK - A "chat room" winds up the Summer Sunday Speakers Series at the Depot Museum this Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m. Open to the public, the chat room encourages visitors to share memories of their growing up-days, no matter where they took place.

Part of Sunday's program will be devoted to a review of this year's speakers series and to suggestions for next year.

The museum opens at noon on Sunday and light refreshments will be served.
