A Sebring man remained in Highlands County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond Tuesday, charged with hitting his step-father and grabbing his mother during an argument.
Jordan Eli Shapiro, 29, of Sebring, was charged with domestic violence related aggravated battery on a person 65 years old or older and domestic violence battery.
Sheriff's investigators reported that at 3:31 a.m. Sunday, they were dispatched to the Sebring home after Shapiro became enraged for an undisclosed reason at which point the victims reported he grabbed his 53-year-old mother by the shirt "in an aggressive manner."
Seeing this, her husband, his step-dad, told him to leave at which point Shapiro reportedly got angrier and smacked the victim in the chest.
Shapiro denied the allegations, the report stated.
However, the deputy believed the mother's testimony as she appeared to be shaken and upset by the incident. Neither victim sustained any visible injuries, the report stated.
