Two Men Charged With Armed Burglary

Two Sebring men remained in Highlands County Jail on Monday after they were arrested as suspects and charged with armed burglary of an Arbuckle Creek Road home and grand theft of firearms, video games and jewelry within.

Deol Narayan, 18, of 3525 Dauphine Street, and Nicholas Jordan Ramos, 19, of 1879 Jones Drive, were each charged with burglary of a structure, grand theft of firearms and dealing in stolen property.

Narayan was also charged with grand theft $300 or more but less than $5,000 and was being held without bond on an Orange County warrant on a charge of armed robbery.

Ramos was being held in lieu of $80,000 bond.

According to a Highlands County Sheriff's Office arrest report, the Arbuckle Creek Road homeowners reported the theft on July 25.

The list of stolen items included 10 weapons, including a .25 caliber semi-automatic Titan handgun and a .32 caliber H&R revolver, Nintendo Wii and Sony Play Station 2 video game systems and several pieces of jewelry, the report stated.

The total value of the stolen items was $11,519.

Police say that Ramos' mother, who cleaned the home, was interviewed by detectives on Aug. 13. She said her son Nicholas was with her to help clean. He had gone with her at least one time prior to that date, the report stated.

During an interview with a witness, investigators learned that Ramos and Narayan had spoken about breaking into a home on Arbuckle Creek Road and had shown him a .25 caliber handgun and a .32 caliber revolver, the report stated.

Detectives served a search warrant at Ramos' and Narayan's homes. They located the stolen Nintendo Wii game system, a Sony Play Station 2, and two .32 caliber shell casings in Narayan's bedroom, the report stated.
