Primary Election Set For Today

The polls are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. today.

In the primary, Democrats are choosing between former commissioner Jeri Canale and psychologist Bruce Borkosky in the race for District 3 county commissioner; Jeff Carlson and incumbent Andrew Jackson are Republicans seeking the same position.

Also, Democrats can pick incumbent Susan Benton or Avon Park Police Cmdr. Mike Rowan for sheriff.

Republicans will also select their man or woman to stand against incumbent Democrat Tim Mahoney in the 16th District congressional race. Gayle Harrell, Tom Rooney and Hal Valeche are in the Republican primary.

In the non-partisan race for circuit court judge, Lakeland attorney John Radabaugh is taking on Bartow attorney Nathaniel White.
