James A. Wedemeier, 27, of Sebring, was critically injured Friday in a one-car crash on State Road 60 at N. Airport Road in Lake Wales.
He was traveling east on State Road 60, according to the NewsChief.com of Winter Haven. Quoting the Florida Highway Patrol, the news report said investigators weren't able to determine why Wedemeier lost control of the vehicle, which swerved left and back to the right.
The vehicle slid across both eastbound lanes until it hit a concrete curb. It continued to travel on the shoulder, where it struck a metal sign, a chain-link fence and a wooden utility pole between the front and rear driver's doors.
Wedemeier was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
